anyone know a site that explains the differences between routed and routing protocols?! cant find one! :smt011
Let me try to remember....it's about 3 years since I studied for the CCNA Routed protocols are protocols which are routed (duh) like: tcp/ip. Routing protocols are the protocols which route the routed ones: BGP, OSPF, IGRP, RIP. I hope this can be a start PD
Thanks... tho that much i knew... i have to write stupid notes on these two for coursework.... which is now already late! Its been ages since i did my ccna work as well...
Ive given up on that project for today... the fun now starts here... "You will study the TCP/IP suite in detail" :smt019 :smt011 :smt022 :smt015 :toimonster:
My night will now feature the exciting explanations and googling for.... TCP/IP protocol stack Explain how TCP (layer 4) complements IP (layer 3) which is “best effort†TCP and UDP Segment Formats TCP and UDP Port Numbers Three Way Handshake/ Open Connection TCP Simple Acknowledgement and Windowing TCP/IP and the Network Layer And MANY MANY MORE.... :Hangman:
That's not so bad Paulo. I'd love to make a coursework about tcp/ip. I hate every coursework/homework I have to do on college, it's just bullshit, nothing exciting.
HAHA dont be offering that now.... might just take it! :smt043 Nah seriously its amazingly dry having to write about this stuff... It suks alll the fun out of networking and working with computers...
TCP/IP is tedious, but isn't bad knowledge to know. The lower you can go, the more low-level problems you can troubleshoot. I know dick about networking, but have to screw around w/ routers from time to time at work.
