I am a RPG maker dude too :smt023

Made most of a game on my own....about 700mb big and not even half complete....only about 4 hours of gameplay in it though. Its basically a pisstake game though....lots of private jokes only I get, lol.

You have an idea for a RPG maker project though? I am kindof interested....but don't know if I have the time to be honest.

i don't know , i just played phantasy star 4 and it poped into my mind , i would love to do something a bit inspired by it, someonthing advanced in years , that have cyborg and other things but that have a rustical look at it too (imagine phantasy star4 a bit.... cyborgs, planets ....but take a look a the villages in them , they aren't develloped at all. ) something a bit dark , an apocalyptic thing....(not too much too). im working on a story , something . sure , its not completed at all , i just begin to talk about the atmosphere only , everything you know now is what i know! i would love to write something with someone else. :smt025

i would love to see your game too!

Well, to be honest I've never played Phantasy Star 4 ^_^ But I think I understand what you mean about the setting :smt023

Keep me posted on story ideas and whatnot...though as I said, I have other priorities that come first ^_^

You want to see my game? Itrs really not worth it. It doesn't have much of a story at all and is fairly crap until near teh end (where I started to learn how to use RPG maker properly).

If you really want to see it then I can dig it all out and make a test build again :smt023 Though I have nowhere to host it AND its not really worth playing.

i would like to create a team and make a rocking story that go really deep. :smt045

I'm talking the PC one. I've never had the chance to mess with the PS/PS2 varieties.

Oh, and I know PC RPGMaker can be fairly crappy, but you can achieve some good stuff if you are good at faking things, lol.

indeed , you can do really good things with rpg maker 2000/2003you just need to know how. the 256 color barrier is really anoying , but if you use the layer technique , you can make a really good looking scene , with more than 256 colors .

that would be cool to do a big team and work on something. :smt030

well, i never tried them , but they seems to have less possibilities , plus , you can't really do them with a team over the web, and you can't publish it....

plus , somes group always try to upgrade 2003... all this free. :drinkers:

so, who would be interested to make something? :smt025

Well I haven't heard of a group of guys that published an RPG they made with that software and made at the most $5. But with the console versions, you have to work around limits, thats challenging and the work pays off. And having a Dexdrive works for the PSX RPG Maker, which I have, and owning a Sharkport for the PS2 is great for the PS2 version, which might I add is 3D.

well, i don't do it for cash.... and rpg maker on pc is also chalenging , because you can always tried new techniques that where never made , the layer technique is cahllenging too, but really cool at the end. you never have limits, games with 800mb of work can be done.

    would you whant to join?
iit would be cool if we would have people that do musics, other for caracters , chipsets , and so on.....:smt045

but everyone would contribute to programing and story , if they whant to.. :)

that woud be cool .... :smt025

2d rocks btw, and we could make fake 3d( a la ff7 ) ..... rpg maker is everything about fake , you know? ;-)

Is there a way to Dump a game made with PX RPG maker so that you can burn it to a CD? Don't own it yet, but I've got my eye on it at the local used game shop.

There's also one called "fighter maker," is that any good?

well, if you say you're working on your own game , then you can't really be in big leagues...its all about team working. :smt025

2d. there's one in 3d but you must paid for it and it's only in japanese.

not that i know. but you can burn a pc rpg maker game on cd :-D

i never tried fighter maker , i can't tell you if it's good.. i never tried any psx rpg maker too, i would love to , but....

so , if you have someskills in something (music, graphics , rpg maker programming.... the purpose of the project is to have fun, but i would love to make something big too. i would not be able to always work on it too.

You do realise that the RPGMaker2000/2003 on the internet isn't actually free, right? Its ripped and translated from Japanese last I checked.....so you couldn't actually release anything for it unless you own an original copy I assume (well, release to make money ^_^)
