    Hello
My friend has a phat PS3 with RSOD. We already read about the problem, and we know that's a hardware problem. Its has the last OFW and we already tried all option in the recovery menu without success (even tried to reflash the last OFW).

We know that with CFW, it could have a "fix", but as already said, its has the last OFW.

We just wanted to have sure our options to fix it. Maybe the only solution would be a E3 flash?

    Too be fair,
The only way too repair this 100% is too replace the nor chip.

Or, indeed you can use the e3 flasher too use the onboard nor chip. Would do the same. But it would have too be soldered.

The rsod fix is more a temporary fix. Thats my opinion on the red screen of death on a ps3

Hello, and thanks for the reply.
Well, to replace the nor chip, I will need to dumb the original first.. right? So I will need a e3 flasher.

    So our options are:
    - Dumb using a e3 flasher and replacing for a new one (100% fix)
    - just install a e3 flasher and use it to boot the system (not 100% fix)

    right?

    Yeah those are your options.

a e3 flasher or a teensy 2.0(?)(not sure which exact version out of the blue), can also be used too dumb the nor?

Where are you located btw?(pm is also okey) I have one, but not for selling...
