Running a BitTorrent tracker

    What are the legalities of running a BitTorrent tracker that only tracks torrents of files that aren't available to buy anywhere in the world(tv shows and so on.)

    Well... the piratebay was a tracker... and it got 'shut down'. So you're still liable.

    If you only link to searches for the torrent in question and not directly to you. Your protected from copyright laws. A Scene site i use links to torrent trackers ie pirate bay just enters the keywords that will bring up what your looking for. Linking directly to the torrent gets you shut down

    @phate ThePirateBay.org tracker shut down.. Now they only use magnet links and you have to rely on DHT and alternate trackers. But TPB website is still functional... for now...

    Yep, some countries are like "copyWHAT?" and others have very strict copyright laws, look the wrong way at a file and go to prison.
