Running Custom code on XBox 360 Freeboot. Is it possible? Hi guys! I have XBox 360 SDK and a console with Freeboot. Unfortunately I have no XDK Console. The question is can I create some code in Visual Studio then create iso image with this code and after that convert iso using ISO2God and test it on a console. Have anyone managed to do like this or are any different ways to run custom code on XBox 360 Retail with or without Freeboot? Thanks!
Yea I have. I'm a game dev student, I've been dealing with the Xbox 360 SDK/ and XDK for about a year now and Freeboot-Jtag/RGH for about 2 years. My professor helps me re-build Xbox 360 code and package them for Jtag/RGH consoles that couldn't run them before. I also sign game dev content for XDK's. check out my post here: http://rgloader.spiffy360.com/thread-203.html
Thanks a lot! But in your post I can't see the way how to connect my computer to my retail console. I open Xbox 360 Neighborhood from the SDK then click Add XBox 360 and then enter the IP address of my console. But my PC can not find the console, because it's not the developer one Should I install some additional software to my console or maybe I can find the final xex file in some place and manually move it to the console?
Oh I found this one http://www.homebrew-connection.org/...to-build-a-devkit-nand-for-your-rghjtag-xbox/ and it seems that I begin to understand what did you mean
Yea. You'll need to convert your Jtag/Retail to a development kit using RGL or TX Fusion. I recommend you update your jtag/rgh console to the latest freeboot and get all of the latest avatar/kinect updates before wirting the dev freeboot. The reason is dev kits don't get updated via xboxlive or through flash drives they use a different method.
Can I convert it back to the retail if I want? Or maybe there is some xex file like FreestyleDash.xex that I can run and after reboot load the console in normal way
