Hi, i got a RVT-R and need some help to get things working. My RVT-R has the V1.11 without a menu. I have a US wii dev disc i want to start but when it loads the screen stay black and nothing happened. When the disc load it say the autoloader was build nov 2007. Im not sure if this is a problem with my installed firmware. I tested another disc comes with the kit, works fine. Also Some NR discs working without Problems. So my questions now : - What is the latest firmware for a RVT-R and how can i install it? - When it comes to dumping a disc i need a cfw on the kit? For that did i need a menu installed first? - I know there Wii Menu changer discs, can i install a menue only with a disc or is it possible over usb with sdk ? Hope someone can help me. regards Chris
The latest firmware that I can see is swupdate56.21.29, but there is also swupdate_ALL, I will try to run this and see what firmwares it offers. I have never installed the homebrew channel on an RVT-R, but I presume that you would need the menu installed. For the RVT-R the firmware updates and menu can only be installed with a disc. The RVT-H can install firmware updates and the system menu by transfering over USB into one of the banks on the hard drive and then running it from there. If you are in need of these discs, I may be able to help you out .
I've installed it on an rvt h before. Once the system menu is installed, just use letter bomb from hackmii to install the hbc. You have to use an old version of the installer. I think it's this one: https://wii.brewology.com/downloads/download.php?id=13615&mcid=3
I followed the guide here: https://forum.wii-homebrew.com/index.php/Thread/56762-Hack-an-RVT-Wii-NDEV-RVT-H-RVT-R/ OK i installed the latest dev update US, installed the wii menu 4.3U and use Letterbomb to install the HBC. Done boot2 dont work for me, so i used priiloader to access bootmii for Dumping and restore the nand. Anything went fine. When i now start GX Loader it tells me i Need IOS58. But i put the 3 Wads into the nand with Ohneschwanzenegger like the guide tell me. Did i missed something?
Would you be willing to share the unmodified NAND dump from your console (along with the keys?) I think the issue is with memory allocation in the IOS, but I need to see the NAND to confirm.
