RVT-R reader uses?

I've been wondering if an RVT-R reader can be used for something else than just testing games.
Since it announces itself as a devkit/debug unit, can it be hooked up to the PC and used like an NDEV?
Or is it nothing more than a Wii that reads RVT-R discs?

and, eventually, a console that can change its region via a system updater. But that's pretty all yeah.

 

Wow that sucks and there's no way of reading stock DVDs

 

The RVT-R is also a great system to play GameCube NR discs, from all regions! Something you can't do with an NR Reader
