Now, as far as I'm aware, this game (originally known as Kingdoms back in 2010) went through several years of development hell - and many reboots before finally landing as an Xbox One release title. In earlier builds, rumour has it that the game was a Kinect title, with players being able to raise their shields, stab with their swords, and throw objects at enemies. Does anyone have these old builds, or screenshots and pictures from them? All I seem to find is pre-renders and bullshots, making me wonder if these old versions of the game ever really got anywhere. It's in Spanish –Google could help you with that– and you won't get to see any actual footage from Ryse on 360, but you will get to see some artwork, and some screenshots, artworks and footage from Codename: Kingdoms. Here it is: http://www.vandal.net/loquepudoser/ryse-son-of-rome
The actual release on XBONE, the gameplay isnt any better than that... In fact it is one of the most shitty exclusive line-up titles ever.
From the looks of Weinflame's link, it seems that nothing but concept art and engine showcases escaped Crytek's dev labs. I'm more and more intrigued by this. I've not seen one actual in-game screenshot for 360, and that game was in development for well over 2 years before switching to Xbox One. Can anyone shed some light on why so little of this game was publicly released? Did any of the game's proposed modes make it past proof-of-concept or prototype stage?
Probably because other action/fighting games such as Fighters Uncaged had a very bad reception, so crytek decided to change it in order to achieve a better reception, also the graphicis were so good that i don't believe it was running in a 360 hardware.
