The First two Issue of 'S' magazine the UK`s first Sega mag. It was printed on very thin matt paper for the first twenty issues. Issue 2 is dated Jan 1990 so we can assume the launch issue was late 89 or more likely early Jan 90. Issues 4(March 1990) & 7(June 1990) Issues 8(July 1990),9(August 1990) & 12(November 1990) Issue 13(December 1990) The magazine is renamed at this point to 'SEGA POWER' probably because many people had no idea wtf 'S' magazine was! Also Issue 20(July 1991) Sonic the hedgehog on cover. Issue 20 in more detail, has the word "Sonic Boom" then "Game of the decade or hyped up hogwash" interesting in retrospect after dozens of sequels and spin-offs. You can also win Indy`s leather jacket Issues 21(August 1991) & Issue 22(September 1991) Issue 23(October 1991) The magazine cover is printed on a far more glossy paper from here onwards and has a more professional feel throughout Also Issue 24(November 1991) issues 26(January 1992) & 28(March 1992) Issues 30(May 1992) & 39(February 1993) I can`t believe i`ve kept the ones i`ve shown in this condition, I was six or seven when i got my first issues. I have other Sega Power magazines that arent shown some which fill in the gaps but they aren`t in very good condition. It was the first magazine I had a subscription to and I loved it. Had informative features, reviews, previews, letters, good humour and 'The Hard Line' A list of every Sega game or peripheral reviewed and rated. S magazine & 'SEGA POWER we salute you!

Funny, where your collection stops, mine goes on. So basicly I have the exact other half of the collection. (still looking for a couple of issues in the 80-90 range).
@ Dr.Doak It`s great to read the original reviews of some 8-bit classics and also see what games topped the charts. One of my favourite SMS games Wonderboy III: The Dragons Trap was given 92% and rightly so. found a nice Mean Machines Sega magazine with Sonic and Knuckles Preview....a little nod in the direction of your avatar @SegaFreakNL The last issue i can find is 47 (october 1993) but I only have about 10 other issues I didnt take pictures of.
I've got that one;-). I've got all the Official Sega mags (UK) and most of the Official Saturn mags too. I would really like some of the older mags though as i'm a big SMS fan.
Nice collection! Good to see I'm not the only one who collects gaming magazines. I'm going to have to sell a few soon, though! Anyway, back to S... issue one was published October 1989. ISSN 0958-3114 02, right? ;-)
Fantastic collection, I also collect old Sega mags :thumbsup: Here's my list (don't want to post pics on your collection thread) 'S' Magazine 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 Sega Power 18, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 56, 57, 59, 60, 61, 62 and 63 Sega Master Force 1,2 and 5 Sega Force 1, 2, 12, 15 and 18 Sega Pro 1 - 12 (in the official folder) 15, 17, 31 and 37 Sega Pro CD 2 and 41 (I think the number on that is a mistake, Issue 2 is Nov 94 and issue 41 is 1995). Mean Machines Sega 2, Jan 5, Feb 5, 12, 13, 20 and 21 Ive got a few other random issues of other mags aswell. Do you have any spares for sale DRussian? DrDoak - There is still a good bit of SMS in the later issues 93/ 94 - infact it's amazing how many games were produced for the SMS in thease 2 years. retro - If you have any for sale missing off my list give me a shout - I guess DRussian gets first dibs though..
@Retro Thanks for clearing up when issue 1 was published, I really don`t know how they survived my teens. @Rupert I`m afraid I don`t have any spares :-(
