I have a question. Does anyone play SNES using S-Video? I am using an universal S-video cable, and since it works on n64, I'd figured it'd work on SNES. Problem is that the screen constantly shakes randomly. Any advice? Thanks
I don't play SNES via S-video but I can tell you that it should act no differently than composite should on your display. Perhaps your display doesn't expect progressive video to be possible over S-video and is trying to deinterlace it. Are you using a ED/HDTV or standard SDTV?
Probably obvious but read your TV manual and make sure you turn off AUTO colour encoding (or Video System, Colour System, etc) and change it to PAL or NTSC 3.54 depending on the country make of your SNES. I had a similar issue with a LCD screen and a Saturn with S-Video and found it fixable by forcing it to display the correct colour system rather then letting the machine guess.
