Some of you may have noticed X'Eye do have a spot for S-Video but no S-Video port. I've Googled and didn't find definitive answer, other than someone tried installing the port and got nothing.

First, I don't know if X'Eye had board revision and that someone's X'Eye may have different layout, different video encoder chip, or something else.

In preparation for cap replacement, I looked at the board very closely and there are a few components missing between CXA1145 video chip and S-Video port. A few missing components would cause no signal problem someone experienced when they tried installing a video port.

On the bottom of the board near video encoder, at board location C238 (Y) needs a capacitor. A small SMD cap not sure what value yet.
Near S-Video, also on bottom R762 (Y) and R763 (C) both needs resistor installed. Most likely a standard 75 ohms resistor. I can probably use regular 1/8w resistor, clipped short and bent so it'd be flush against the back of the board.

On top of the board near video chip, C237 (C) needs a cap. I'd probably start with 220uF cap. Also K765 (Y), K766 (C), and K767 (ground) needs to be bridged, all 3 are behind S-Video port. A piece of wire should be fine if you don't have 0 ohms SMD resistors.

Finally a PCB mounded S-Video jack is needed.

Deasoldering braid or tool is needed to clear the holes for S-Video and C237 cap.

Will check back when I get the part to do this. Any idea what cap value is needed for bottom of the board? It'd be for luma signal.

(Y), (C), and ground are indicated for signal tracing purpose.

I got the parts in, soldered it in, and tested it. I am getting video through S-Video port but it's acting up like there's sync issue. I'd have to recheck solder joints and probably recheck the small capacitor at C238, I used .01uF cap as the 220uf I have is a bit big for SMD pad. C238 is for luma and helps with sync IIRC.

So X'Eye could support S-Video after all, those who tried and failed likely didn't notice the missing resistors or capacitors. I'd have to get back Monday as I got to go somewhere for the weekend to help with my little brother's wedding.

You could also mod it for S-video via the CXA1145 which is what most people do (including myself).
