One of my guilty pleasures but this game is seriously fun. Far better then GTA's serious take, SR 3 gives you the over the top hilarity. Seriously it's worth a rent !
Awesome game, although I'm almost done with it. Just hope Rockstar gets a clue and GTA V is closer to SRIII/San Andreas than IV. Flying around in a hoverbike or a VTOL jet that has a laser and looks like something out of Macross is way more fun than having to take your stupid cousin bowling every five minutes. Oh, and that mission where you go into the computer world? Pure fucking genius.
Great game, loving it so far. For anybody buying new, if you can go with the PS3 version. You get a digital copy of SR2 for free when you register the online pass. ^_^ You have until march I think to qualify for the free game.
Guess I'm one of the few that hates this game. Waaaaay too short, no semblence of a story, they give you jack and shit to do, the rival gangs suck (making the Deckers a Tron rip-offs...and piss poorly), the activities are lame (especially the Deckers trailblazer ones), the weapons are a mixed bag at best (the Penetrator is only funny for so long), the humor is lame, at it's sad that Rooster Teeth find funnier things to do in the game (but again, only fun for a while). Not to mention you don't even have to bother going to a Rim Jobs to upgrade your car (just go to your garage at one of your safe houses). You don't unlock shit in diversions unlike SR 1 & 2. The DLC that's out now is completely pointless. It's almost as if they spent too much time making it over-the-top that they ran out of time to put in the things that made the other two games fun. I honestly don't know if I want to bother with the first of three mission DLC that comes out next month. Knowing Volition, it might be yet another crap mission DLC with just 3 missions. And they're already announcing that there will be a fourth one?
A lot of the things that are wrong with this game, especially the disjointed story, are due to the game basically being unfinished and cobbled together. I don't really understand how it gives you "jack and shit to do", I thought there was plenty to do, especially compared to GTA IV, which really does give you jack and shit to do.
San Andreas Had both dildo's and vibrators's lol:nod: On another note this is my 600th post :birthday:
Saints row without bugs would be like A ham sandwich without bread. The bugs make it fun. I remember getting on top of the ultor dome with pipe bombs and one of those tiny cop carts thanks to a glitch in the physics.
A vehicle glitching into the ground or one of the bridges is not fun. Having to find the sweet spot to ride a motorcycle across a raised bridge is not fun. Getting glitched into the ground a freefalling for 5+ seconds before it resets you on the ground is not fun. Glitched out physics engine that causes a car to keep madly spinning until it hits enough things to explode is not fun (especially when doing a transport activity and the clock is ticking the whole time). The fact that some of the bugs have been around since the first game makes me question whether some of the coders at Volition are competent. Compared to either SR1 or SR2, the amount of activities is shit in comparison, not to mention they only have the bare minimum of variety (No Fuzz?). Co-op is completely pointless since nothing changes in the game. The only exception I can see is if one is already maxed out on upgrades and the other person is just starting out. Yeah, GTA IV was boring, but SR3 hit the boring mark about 10 minutes in. SR3 was boring, uninspired and makes me regret cancelling my pre-order for AC:R over this. Got my 1k in about a week. Debating on trading it in soon or waiting for the first of the mission DLCs. Volition seriously screwed the pooch on this one.
Saints Row 3 looks like shit to me compared to GTA IV. It's not classy enough to be a serious competitor, but maybe it's still as much fun, will try it out in a few years.
Compared to SR1 and 2, I found the graphics to be a big improvement. Almost near GTA IV, but the lack of variety within similar types of territory (such as the docks and industrial area) made it kind of bland. They don't quite seem to blend from one type of territory to the next. I'd consider it a rental, but definitely not a purchase.
Some people have been saying the vehicle physics are crazy.. I haven;t played it yet but from what other people have been talking about, sounds like they're worse than Vice City.
Need another reason to play the game? Sasha Gray is in it! Google her if you don't know...just don't do it from work
Completed the game the other day and i must say it's really fun. Sure there are glitches not all of them good and sure it's not the best looking or best playing game but to me the fact that it's just so much fun and not too serious is what i like. Once completed i found my self just messing around so much in the game and it was entertain for a few hours each time.
