It was just announced, I believe in the earlier days of the Atomiswave. It was quietly canceled I am guessing since the boards popularity wasn't that great. Plus in all honesty it would mostly be guilty gear vs capcom if anything.
I'm guessing both parties came to an agreement that it wasn't going to work well, Something similar happened to DC vs Capcom when that was announced but it could be due to the fact the rights to the DC characters changed hands again maybe? I think theres even a logo knocking about that used to be on the Capcom site for that when it was under development.
DC vs. Capcom was rejected because DC did not want any of their characters beaten. I believe it was never more than just a rumour.
