Just wanted to share with you a beta/review controller I found some time ago. I was looking for a SNES pad with a longer cable so I grabbed this thing without paying too much attention, just made sure the plug was for SNES. Went home and noticed the sticker at the back. Sticker reads: DD (I guess delivery date): 6 OCT 94 TO: WORLDSTAR FM: MEGA WORLD (must be this Hong Kong company) RE: MX611 EPR SAMPLE SILKSCREEN TO BE IMPROVED AND "TITAN" WILL BE DELETED Titan refers to the blue marking "Titan Series" located under the yellow button, which you can hardly see in the picture, and IRL too. I guess it's either a wrong marking from another model or they realised it didn't look good. I'd be curios to know who WORLDSTAR is (Google didn't help)... maybe the distributor, or a shop which was testing their products? As MEGA WORLD is the manufacturer. And what is an "EPR SAMPLE"? EDIT: maybe it's this electronics company based in HK too: http://worldstar-ind.com/index.html Maybe for safety testings or something like this? I can only find Megapad VI, so maybe the Megapad V was scrapped, or renamed VI later on. Cheers
Looks like a very neat Sega Genesis type of controller, maybe the reason it was scrapped cuz probably how closely it resembles a Sega controller brand and probably didn't wanna get caught up in the mix maybe.
Maybe the box will help. I recently came across one and can't so much as find one on ebay. Guessing it was Saitek and somehow somewhere it was released boxed or how do I have one?
I remember these pads. They're pretty awful to be honest. Very cheap to the touch and have a very mushy d-pad.
