Hm, if I not remember wrong (not impossible;-) ) I have seen one of them on Ebay. At least it was a Samus in glass. Don´t know they ending price. I have a nice Gradius V "crystal". Maybe not as beatyful, but still one of my fauvorite items in the collection (Vic Viper is cool as well;-): http://loading.se/user_file.php?b1b573bc433362fe478c88559c3f93cd
I was lucky and won the Gradius crystal for only 79 usd. Have only seen it sells one time before (on Yahoo Japan, ended much higher - 34000 yen), and someone told me it ended for about 250 usd on ebay once (just after the Konami/Gradius V contest - in US - were 7 of them was prizes).
They are made with laser beams that produce heat in a particular spot... so the cost of making them isn't worth the $250 (if it's not a licensed product).
Yeah, that's what I'd been told, the heat at the point where the laser beams intersect is enough to make the bubbles. I wonder how long they take, and how much the objects actually cost to manufacture in the end?
I don't know exactly, but since I see many of them for really cheap in bazaars from Chinese sellers here in Greece (10 euros for a pretty big detailed ship in a 20x20cm cube), I don't think they cost a lot to manufacture.
Around here you can get self portraits done this way in the shopping mall for about $20. The hardware is pretty far advanced and fairly cheap I assume.
No shit. That's insane. $20 to the first person here who goes in there with one of those pac-man hats on.
