Ola chaps. One of my HKT-7300 Arcade Stick by Sega for Sega Dreamcast isn't working as I originally received it. The aggressive use and even abuse from friends and family have taken its toll on the unit before I've even owned it for a week FFS -_- The stick itself is behaving a little unresponsively. The Microswitches themselves seem fine but the stick appears to have lost its springiness and won't always return to neutral from some positions. I could possibly replace the spring if I could find the right model, but bugger it, I'm not just going to repair the stick but I'll ugrade the stick to a real arcade unit instead. I'm pretty much set on the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT + GT-Y octagonal restrictor gate + JLF-CD Shaft Cover as it seems pretty decent and will not break the bank, but I figured whilst I'm at it, why not replace the buttons for real arcade ones too? The basic Alps Electric units feel kinda crappy. I'd like a proper microswitched unit that will last a while and take a pounding. I'm also quite tempted to colour match the unit's buttons to match those of the HKT-7700 control pad eg Red A, Blue B, Yellow X, Green Y and Grey L/R like the guide here: I can find the Sanwa OBSF-30 with colour matched plunger and surrounds for all but grey and I don't fancy Z or C in any other colour, but one black one white could be tolerable, albeit barely -_- Does anyone have a source for these with grey surrounds? Alternatively, the OBSF-30RG is available in some colours but not grey, in which case my colour coordinated plan goes out of the window and I'll go for the stock look of having everything Green. It isn't the end of the world as I don't have a huge problem rocking the stock look, but if I go this route, is there any noticeable difference between the RG and basic models? Other than the signifcant price hike, they allegedly they use a bigger, longer lasting microswitch. If it can take more of a pounding from abusive friends and family, then great though after around £70 in parts I think I'll keep this stick myself and fob them off with the spare factory stock model until they break that too. Or, perhaps you have a better button suggestion which is none of the above? The Arcade Stick is ready and waiting for a better life! Thanks in advance
