Saturn and Dreamcast PSU Swapping (120V -> 240V and 240V -> 120V)

I have been dumping all the DC bios chips I pull from peoples consoles (when doing the region free bios upgrade). But I do not have MPR-21871

Google doesnt turn up much, other than someone saying they have seen it before.

I save them with the file name of the MPR number, i.e. MPR-21068.bin

CRCs I do not have, but could easily get from all the files.

I dump ALL the bios chips I get, even if they have the same MPR number - I then compare them to the ones I already have. Just incase there happens to be a random oddball one. X1 and X2 are identical, but kept because they were different numbers on the chip.

Unfortunately dont have many, but these are self dumped and verified - not off the internet.

I dont, but most are PAL. The only one that isnt from a PAL board is the MPR-21068.bin IIRC.

I can certainly start recording more information though - just tell me what you want and I will knock up a spreadsheet and populate that in future.

I do not have anywhere near the time required to build what you want to do - but I would certainly make use of it. Which is why I am willing to help.

Camera is too much of pain for me though - I do not have a good one, pain in the ass to take pictures and upload them etc.

But I am willing to contribute to a spreadsheet/database if you have one set up.

 

I'd definitely call this time consuming!

But the good news is we have the BIOS dumped thanks to XDR, BBA and httpd-ack-20080711.

Does that size sound about right?

Edit: Seems to work OK in lxdream-0.9.1. I guess that's good right?

no no no, I wasnt implying you were asking me to build it lol. Just saying I wouldnt have the time to do it but would make use of it - so I am willing to help with the data, as its something thats useful and I appreciate you are finding the time to do it.

dumping the flash is semi pointless - as you cant get a virgin dump without getting a console thats never been used and dumping it externally.

Once you boot the DC, the flash gets written to (at least thats my understanding from what ive read on archiving/dumping sites)

 

Just before I do post a link to the BIOS dump... Are we allowed to post BIOS dumps on this forum?
