I search all over and the only place people are discussing this is here-
    http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=56355

I have the same issues discussed there. Jail bars on some games but not on others or at least not as visible. I haven't done extensive testing though. Some people are saying the Saturn jail bar issue is fixed if you roll the Framemeister firmware to 1.05 but that version has no English support. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Anyone else have this issue? Nobody seems to be talking about it so is it only a problem with a specific setup? Could it be a bad power supply?

Yeah I have this issue too. I've only noticed it on the latest firmware never before.

I recently replaced the EMI filters on the output on my model 2 Saturn which made the image noticeably sharper, but unfortunately the jailbars are much more noticeable now :D

I see the jailbars too using an unmodified model 2 as well, although not nearly as much.

    I'll try downgrading the firmware.

The strange thing with my Saturn model 2 is if I use the 8 pin din to scart adapter included with the Framemeister I get noticeable jail bars in Panzer Dragoon Zwei but if I use my custom built 8 pin din to scart adapter the jail bars are reduced. My custom adapter is about 3 feet long made with heavy insulated vga cable. That is the only difference with my adapter vs the one the unit came with. I made the adapter because my old tv setup had the Framemeister in a location that was difficult to get to. The thing I hate about my adapter is the extra 3 feet adds noticable blurryness to all my consoles (SNES,Genesis,Playstation) except the Saturn. The Saturn stays nice and crisp but the jail bars are lessened significantly but still very noticable. I think I read somewhere that analog cables start receiving heavy interference after about 5-6 feet since it acts like a long antenna. That extra 3 feet of the adapter intensifies the antenna interference effect but not on the Saturn magically. Maybe the Saturn does blur a little but I can't notice it.

The Saturn scart cable I use is one I bought from retro_console_accessories on ebay a few years ago. The cabling isn't shielded so I wonder if I should make a new one with shielded wires.

I have tried the original Sega RBG cable and a third party which is also shielded. There are no difference unfortunately.

Haven't had time to try the earlier firmware on the XRGB yet.

I was hoping you would say that because I really don't want to spend an evening painstakingly making another cable.

I didn't notice it either until I bought Panzer Dragoon Zwei and a mission stick. The first level is all dark browns which REALLY shows the jail bars. I honestly never noticed before that.
