With online co-op and battle! And there goes my social life... http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/...uardian_Heroes_Coming_To_Xbox_Live_Arcade.php Sega has announced that classic RPG brawler Guardian Heroes will be re-released via the Xbox Live Arcade. The game was originally developed by Treasure, and released in 1996 for the Sega Saturn console. This new release will see the original receive enhanced HD, widescreen visuals and all-new game modes, including Time Attack, Arcade and Arrange modes. New online modes will also be available, with online co-op and battle included. The games features 45 different playable characters, and a story mode that can be played either alone or with a friend. An updated Versus mode will allow up to 12 players to fight it out over Xbox Live at once. The game is set for a release later this year. Haruki Satomi, VP of digital business at Sega, said of the title's re-release, "Players have been clamoring for this treasured favorite from the Saturn days, and we cannot wait to show them what we have got for them."
It is certainly my favorite beat 'em up. My only issue is with the elongated story segments. I always wished there was a way to skip that nonsense.
Amazing game, superb controls, great characters, AMAZING music. They better not mess too much with any of these. When the king skeleton guy goes ape shit its just too good. One of the only Treasure games that is actually great.
I also think it's bloody awesome, one of my most played games on the Saturn back in the day. Can't wait. Love the intro, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hJLOZHDcZw
Hell yeah! I've been hoping for this to be released for a while now, but didn't actually believe it'd ever come out on this gen consoles. And the only overrated Treasure game is Ikaruga. Well, you can hold R to speed them a lot...
Sega posted two nice concept art on the blog. http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2011/05/05/guardian-heroes-announced-for-xbox-live-arcade/
Not enough. Well, specifically, there is ONE cut scene or whatever that I need to have the ability to skip, and I'm sure everyone who has played GH more than once knows which one I'm talking about.
Yeah, I know EXACTLY which one you mean. To be honest, that's the only cutscene that really annoys me in the game. Everyone should check out Bangai-O: Missile Fury on XBLA too.
Over rated like many a Treasure game. It's good but not that good. Wow sir, I'ma Let you finish, but Guardian Heroes is one of the best beat-em-ups of all time!
I tried the Saturn version once at a mate's house, it didn't grab me particularly. Maybe I should check it out again.
Boo, horrible filtering! How do Sega manage it?! http://www.gamersyde.com/news_guardian_heroes_for_xbla-11015_en.html
Yay! Should be fun. I've only ever played the Japanese version of the game and never got too far into it. I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Indeed, I'd rather just dig out the Saturn every now and again if it comes to it. Sega really do have a reverse midas touch.
You're only saying that because it raped your ass so damn hard before you threw it away, devastated and in tears! ;D
