i found this video on youtube and i got one system with the exact same problem.

you turn it on, it plays for a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes, then freezes at random. reset button refuses to work.

so i figured the problem might be more common than i thought.

somebody knows a fix for this?

Never seen that one before but I had a Saturn that would only boot to the CD player screen however the two little green polygon boxes would be blown all the way up and bright red as if a loud sound had passed through them. The CD drive looked as if it was dead too until I tried it in another Saturn. So something on the main Mother Board had go ape however everything looked fine. Maybe your Saturn has a similar mother board problem?

i tested the cd drive in another saturn, works like new.

i also tested another power supply in this unit to no avail.

Then it sounds like the mother board had gone just like the faulty Saturn I had.

on the digitpress.com forum someone described a similar problem and got as answer that some traces on the motherboard or power supply need to be re-soldered. oh well... here goes the long multimeter-night...
