Huge Saturn fan but unlike the N64 & PS1 I can only think of a few full roaming 3d games. Not ones where you are on rails like Panzer Dragoon or Virtua Cop, or ones where you are stuck in an arena like Virtual On or Virtua Fighter, or any FPS shooters. The few I could think of are: Croc Tomb Raider Panzer Dragoon Saga (On foot town & flying map sections)
Was Ninpen-manmaru good? This is being asked by a guy who really enjoyed Croc despite dated controls.
There are loads of free roaming 3D Saturn games. When I get home I'll put a list together. To much effort to do that on a phone.
Spyro wasn't released on the Saturn only Playstation. There's Space Hulk although that was a bit like doom
Yeah this is more FPS. Even Virtual Hydlide feels kind of odd with the camera locked to the character. 3rd person roaming character is what I was asking about.
OK, fully 3D roaming games on the Saturn. Racing games that limit you to a track or 3D games like BUG! are not counted since you can only go where the track leads you. 3D Mission Shooting FINALIST (Known as Tunnel B-1 in the west) A+M+O+K Assault Rigs Baroque Black Fire Blam! Machine Head Bulk Slash Croc - Pau-Pau Island Dark Savior Death Throttle Deka 4 Yonku Tough The Truck Ghen War Gun Griffon Gun Griffon II Krazy Ivan☆ Lupin The 3rd The Sage of Pyramid Magic Carpet Mechwarrior 2 Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 1 - Senritsu no Blue - Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 2 - Ao wo Uketsugu Mono - Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 3 Ninja Jajamaru-kun - Onigiri Ninpouchou Gold Ninpen Manmaru Off World Interceptor Extreme Panzer Dragoon Azel RPG Seireki 1999 Pharaoh no Fukkatsu (Exhumed) Tomb Raider Welcome House - Maybe it doesn't count because it's more Bio Hazard style but all areas are polygon generated. Willy Wombat That's not everything either.
Hey I appreciate taking the time for the list. A lot of them are first or 3rd person shooters though which isn't what I am looking for. Games like Willy Wombat and Dark Savior don't really fit my question either because they are more a top down 3d game with sprite characters. Bulk Smash is also more like Virtual On where you are locked to an arena. Lupin The 3rd The Sage of Pyramid & Ninja Jajamaru-kun - Onigiri Ninpouchou Gold though are two I did not know of and more along the lines of Croc. That's really what I am looking for, fully 3d Croc Mario 64 type games where the camera can move around a 3d character in a 3d world.
Corc's areas are a lot smaller than those found in Bulk Slash. The world's in Bulk Slash are pretty big you know
I'll have to check it out along with Ninja Jajamaru-kun. Lupin The 3rd's main character just creeps me out with his spider length legs.
Backgrounds in Biohazard titles are pre-rendered, but the environments are still modeled in 3D. Kind of the opposite of Dark Saviour, the environments are rendered in 3D but the characters are still drawn in 2D.
