    A modchip is cheap, and as this is no REPLACEMENT for the cd-rom, i would get it modded anyway.

    My guess is that unless this thing can patch images on the fly (or you prepatch the images) having a region-free BIOS installed is going to be useful.

    Yeah it could be possible to do that since the Action Replay cart could do so & also has the ability to use the 1MB or 4MB RAM features.

    It's probably vaporware like the soon to be PSIO.
    I would really like to see an ODE, but such a thing will require a lot more people to give a damn.

    I don't really care much about the USB because I never used it on any of the flashcarts i owned. What do you need USB for?

    For storing and loading isos. The saturn is not a snes/megadrive that you can store the whole system's library in a 8GB SD card.

    @Druid II

    there are still 3rd party cheap 2.5" HDD cases that provide their own psu to power the hdd , it would add one extra cable to the setup but it beats having to buy several expensive atm sd cards to store data... at least I wish usb was an option :)

    I'm sure a 32 GB SD card would suffice. I stored almost 80% of all my favorite Game cube games in one library of games I would want to play. And besides you're not going to put every possible variants of the same game of the entire system library would you? For me personally I would just put the games I like to play and I believe I can fit all that within 32 gbs.

    It is : fpga at the center of the front picture itself is USD20-ish, microcontroller on right side is USD10, and it looks like PCB is a 4 layers one, which is 2-3 time more expensive than a 2 layers one.
    Let's hope it is just a prototype and that final version will use simpler (cheaper) parts :)
