    Technically I think The King of Fighters '95 as well as Ultraman use a ROM cart, not RAM. But I understand you non the less (^_^);

    And as for the games that use the 1-3 meg modes, I personally have never really seen any difference between them. The only games that really show any tangible difference (IMHO) are the 4 meg games.

    Oh, I forgot about Pocket Fighters. That supports No cart, 1MB cart or 4MB cart. Like most of the 3MB games I can't really see much difference with or without the 1MB cart. The 4MB cart has much more animation though.

    Dunno if it was listed already, but Groove On Fight also supported the RAM card.

    While on the subject of these carts, in what way was the kof cart different than other's that utilized the cartridge port on the back of the system. Were important files such as character move sets and levels on the cart to make loading from the cd easier and the game less dependent on the sytstem's processing power? Also why did Sega not release the ram carts state side as a last ditch effort for improved graphics in newer released games and try and recoup lost profit?

    Because that prick, Bernie Stoller (or however you spell his name) was in charge. He pissed off more people during the time of the Saturn than Sega have done in their entire history. In comparison, Sega Europe or at least UK were kicking arse. They brought KOF '95 with RAM Cart to Europe, Panzer Dragoon Azel and a few more gems.

    The KoF ROM cartridge contains game assets likely things such a graphics and maybe some sound effects. I would guess that character graphics would be the most ideal thing to store on it. For many games, including Capcom fighters, a ROM cartridge could have held the animations. But large ROMs are/were expensive. Large RAM cartridges could make more sense depending on the game and additional fast memory needed.

    Has anyone noticed the square screen resolution on KOF '95 is different than KOF '96 and '97 on the Saturn. It's as if the '95 conversion is running in it's native Neo Geo setting while the other two are not. KOF '95 also looks more detailed.

    A feature in SSM described KOF '95 as having the character sprites and sounds on disc, with the ROM cart used for background data. However, this is the first I've heard of it supporting the original Neo Geo resolution - does the Saturn even have an option to run in this particular display mode?

    I'm not sure if it is the original Neo Geo resolution or maybe the image is just cropped. KOF '95 on the Saturn does run in a more square screen than the other 2.
