Saturn model 1 region switch

Saturn model 1 region switch fix needed





Purple – yellow – jp11
Orange – x – jp10
Black – x – jp7
Brown, blue – jp6
^solder points to bottom of board.



Black, blue, brown
Orange, yellow, purple

the saturn is a VA0.8 board.

this really does nothing as of right now...the system will play music CDs but not games at all, even with an action replay. http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=imports:sega_saturn according to this nothing is correct.

 

Looks right at a first glance, may i suggest you to take off the grnd and 5v of one of those point on the board and jumper them in the switch to have less wires running all the way

 

do you think that is reason enough for it not to boot any games? very weird if the wiring is right then the switch must be ruined?

ok, i didn't do this mod. it was done when i got it. i wouldn't know what i have grounded because it looks as though

so, which points do i unsolder then solder on the board?

so jump bridge C and then A on the board, then solder C on 1 side then A on the other side of the switch and attach 5v to the center.

That's a US console, right?
I got a visual layout for a double DPDT PAL mod though which I could upload.

 

First time i actually saw the switch mod. Thanks Druid II. So Basically i need to make a Bridge on points 10-11 and 7-6 and put them on each side of the switch? Sweet =]

ok, so i just decided to remove the switch because i can't understand how it works. what i was able to do is actually put the wires together and get the saturn to boot in japanese mode.

it still won't read games though...

 

Why does moving the pots change the region? The system will boot with the word English firstly or Japanese first sporadically when asking for the region and time. Is this weird?

It is still reading games as music with both of drives. My other Saturn won't even spin the disc, wtf!

 

Why dont you PM/Message, "Bad_AD84" (UK) or "APE" (US) and ask them if they can do the Bios mod for you, it completely removes region locks and is switch less and hassle free?
