    OFFICIAL GUIDE LINK http://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8453

EDIT: Posted official guide over at DC-Talk, if you have any input on how to better the experience please let me know and I'll be happy to modify the guide!

I'm excited to announce that me and a another user over at Dreamcast-Talk SEGARPGFAN have successfully managed to get Sega Netlink working over VOIP! Whats better is you don't even need to pay for a VOIP provider!

Using two Unlocked Linksys SPA1001 FXS VoIP Phone Adapters and lots of testing and configuring. Me and RPG over at DC-Talk have finally managed to get Netlink running. I was so excited to share the news we haven't even published a guide quite yet but will soon!

We have tested Saturn Bomberman and Sega Rally Championship:

Sega Rally Championship runs almost lag free with an occasional hiccup or two but very playable! Runs very well.

Saturn Bomberman is has a little lag but its very playable as well!

Hopefully this will excite the Saturn netlink community and bring more players back!

This is excellent news! Think they might work for the DC? And what OS does it use?

Well i was able to use the voip adapter for dial up internet too so it should work with dreamcast. However for dreamcast users I highly recommend getting a dreampi, its a far superior option for playing dreamcast online virtually lag free

You can use it with any OS :) just have to goto the voip adapters ip address yo configure it

Ah, cool. I guess I'm buying a Netlink modem now, lol.

By the way, does it matter what region of game I'm using?

And youll need a Unlocked Linksys SPA1001 FXS VoIP Phone Adapter which ebay has for like 13 bucks as of this writing :)

It has to be USA region, pal versions do not have netlink enabled and japanese netlink games do not allow direct dial

Hello everyone! There are several updates to the VOIP guide that have been made since this site has been down. This weekend I'll be experimenting with new settings that should make the connection even better :)

For the isp phone what should i put?
Also this is a stock image of what I need to enter
For the DNS i put 75.75.75.75 and 75.75.76.76
I use xfinity so the xfinity gateway is 10.0.0.1
I have the ip address of the voip adapter and used that as the static IP for sinpura and it worked and allowed me to configure settings further on the site. I am using the matched settings using a sip of 5060
Do I enter my area code/phone number? I keep getting a phone busy error but the green light flashes on the voip.
Also voip is very cool and I hope to get to netlinking soon.
    >btw for the user login I put the regular username and password I would use for the wifi

    For Netlinking:
I'm assuming for your voip you are using UNLOCKED Cisco / Linksys SPA1001 FXS VoIP Phone Adapter?
In that case when you do a netlink game you'll be dialing your opponents IP Address. Example 192.168.0.1 and their sip is 5060

If they have followed my guide then you'll type 11*192*168*0*1*5060#
Where 11 is the userID of their voip adapter. If they followed my guide it should be 11.

    For Dial up Internet
The VOIP adapter can't be used for dial up internet unless of course you are paying for actual VOIP service via your ISP. Which if you are, and as long as you have free long distance calling there are a few free dial up providers out there. Depending on which service you use will of course determine what username/pass and ph# you'd enter.

The way I connect my saturn is using a Dreampi. So you can use Broadband for your Saturns internet as well. Only issue is you'd have to switch your phone line from your voip adapter to your dreampi when you want to surf the net. (Dreampi's main use is for Dreamcast but works for Saturn too :) )
More info on that here :

Let me know if this answers your question.

Good news is NetLink does work with PAL Saturn's. However you'll need to either have a modchipped Saturn, Do the Swap Trick, or Use Pseudo Saturn Kai to boot and then swap to Netlink.

This weekend we'll be doing an overseas test actually from USA to Europe :)
