Does anyone have a good source for these? In particular I'm looking for Thunder Force V codes. I tried the ones on http://www.cmgsccc.com/archives/sati.php but they just crash the game. this maybe because I'm using Thunder Force V Special Pack. Shouldn't be though because the game is identical to the normal version bar the print on the disc. Then I thought it's because the codes are made for the code breaker. It can't be that though because all my other codes came from there and they word. I checked the Japanese sites but it's just your typical list of game titles or you have to buy the book with the codes in. By the way, I'm using the KARAT Pro Action Replay 2 Final version. It has the com port on the top but I don't have the leads or software to use it Yakumo
Hmm, I don't really have a source for codes either, but it could be the firmware revision on your cartridge. Can you take a screenshot of the menu screen, or perhaps list the version if it's anywhere to be seen?
It's a Pro Action Replay Version 2.01 Here's a few pictures of it. Cartridge Boot Screen Main Menu Yakumo
Hmm, 2.01 is the latest firmware version if I remember right, so that can't be the problem :-( Did you put in the proper master code (if any) ?
It could indeed be the different version of the TFV game. I have the same AR cart, plus a Saturn X-Terminator with cheat finder. If you ever sent the game to me, I could try and find cheat codes for you.
Yes, I put in the Master Code that the site gave but it was different than the standard one. that code just hung the game after the Licensed by Sega screen. So then I tried again with the normal Master Code but the same thing. I guess that the Special Pack of Thunder Force 5 has different coding than the original which is crazy since it plays and looks just the same from what I can tell. Is it possible to make my own codes via the PC? What cable do I need to connect it plus is the software compatable with Win XP? Yakumo
You need a comms-link card or whatever it's name is. Guess what, I'm selling it in the sales board at this exact moment ;-) (beware, it requires an ISA slot in your PC)
Why oh why hasn't anyone developed a PCI comms link? I don't know enough about PC buses to answer that.
Well, PCI is quite complicated, AFAIK you can't just smack the components on a piece of board and wire them to the bus pins, you need a special chip for configuration management. There's several implementations that use the parallel port though (USB would be a cool thing to pull off, imho)
