So I'm going to install some region free bios's to 3 of my saturns, I want them to have the Hi-Saturn start-up/BIOS. Now someone had mentioned it's not a good idea to mix and match BIOS's like this. Does anyone have any experience swapping bios's around like this across different saturns that can give me a bit of feedback on rather this is ok or not? Does the VA matter when doing a bios install at all or is the hardware the same across all models?
I installed a Victor bios on a regular one, and a regular bios to a Victor one. They're both model 2.
I have model 2 smd bios's. Someone had mentioned the game outrun (I think) has issues with the hi-saturn bios?
I believe you're mentioning the following conversation on neo- geo forums http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showt...urn-Models&s=9172599c4f5450121a9e902fdb22c7b1 Some other people, I think here, said that Hi-Saturn has compatibility issues with the VCD cards, however I don't own one anymore to try and see.
Well that's even worse lol I have a Victor (I think it's a Victor any how) vcd card as well......sounds like perhaps I should just go the route of a normal sega saturn region free bios which sucks because I really like the hi-saturn bios start up the best
Well I haven't tested any of those games since I haven't modified my Saturn, however I'd like to try the 1.03 Hi-Saturn Navi bios too. Try to ask the rest of the folks in the bios thread here regarding any compatibility issues for the combination you'd like to do: https://assemblergames.com/threads/sega-saturn-region-free-bios.33602
