What can you do with it? Encode Truemotion video? I have the player but that's it. I do have the CRI MPEG Sofdec encoder software though which was used to make DC Movies.

Just watched the saturn Truemotion demo. it's nott hat good really. The encoding used is quite poor. I've seem much better True Motion video on the saturn many times. The demo shows someone playing Whizz, a really shitty game released in the UK by Konami. Why they released that and not castlevania is a mystery. The other video shows Matsuya Aiya music video. The Audio side is ok but nothing great. I'm going to try to find these codecs and make my own CD full of goodies :-D

PS: Just thought. Some Dreamcast games use True Motion as well. I wonder if this can be used for the DC? If not I'll stick with the CRI Mpec Sofdec software.

It was just a demo to let people see it could be used. Btw, The duck Truemotion S codec is not the best one on Saturn.
Also, it depends on the video, as saturn can handles at max about 1.35 million of pixels by second with this codec (according to the help file), else it hangs (I saw that with a better video I made before). So for better video, you need to have one with less mouvement, or makes it smaller in a letter-box format.

At least, I just used a existing demo cd & replace the videos, I didn't code the driver, nor improve it.

PS : The codec only works on Windows 3.11 & 'maybe' on Win95 & Win98 1st edition (doesn't work on Win98se and later OS).

Have you ever seen the True Motion footage used on a Saturn game called MARIA ? It's amazing. Looks so clear that you'd thing it was running on a Dreamcast. The screen size is letterboxed but that's fine since it adds to the movie style of the video. Also Game Art's Gungriffon uses full screen True Motion that looks very good (Also has an MPEG option for the MPEG card) Do you know if these games and other uise the same Codec that you used? Golf Shiyouyo on the Dreamcast also uses True Mation. I wonder what type this uses?

What are you talking about now? Dreamcast video doesn't look hideous. It looks fine. Remember it's not running of a DVD you know. Saturn FMV can look hideous though.
