Hi All, Can someone please educate me on scart cables please. What I mean is I made a scart cable for my Amstrad CPC and looks fantastic on my plasma, tried it on my BVM and the pic is super bright with text pulling. I also use the following consoles on my BVM (Saturn, Xbox, Dreamcast, N64 (RGB modded) and I have to adjust the brightness/contrast between them all. Can I add resisters or soething so I can tone down the image and not have to mess with the brightness. If so which pin and what voltage? Ta
TV sets tend to be less picky than monitors. If you have a console who supports it, try a scart cable that uses clean sync (instead of composite video as sync).
Look up the SCART/Péritel specification and ensure your signal levels are within range. Add resistors to compensate, where necessary. Or you could add potentiometers and just adjust them to suit if you're feeling lazy. Check your switching is in range, too. http://www.hardwarebook.info/SCART
Hey, If I wanted to make my own custom cables, what type of wire do I use, and where can I buy it (UK). Is it only the impedance of the end connector that matters or does the cable itself have to be 75ohm?
