Whilst this is headline news in the UK, I know that it's not reaching the US or probably many other countries, either. Christina Edkins was stabbed on the bus to school this morning. She had only just turned 16. A 22 year old man is in custody, and it appears to have been a random attack. Her parents sent her to a school in Halesowen, where she was due to take a mock exam today, because it is a good school and they wanted the best for their daughter. The media are taking to mentioning that she Tweeted a month ago that a man was making her uneasy shifting seats on the bus, and a couple of weeks ago, she said how she hated taking the bus and couldn't wait to learn to drive. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/mar/07/schoolgirl-stabbed-death-birmingham-bus It's sad that there are always going to be nutters out there. I was only in Birmingham in December and considering how, when it used to have such a bad reputation, it was a remarkably pleasant city. RIP Christina.
It was trending on Twitter this morning. I talked to my friend there this morning and it was rather close to where he lives/works.
I feel sorry for her parents , violent crimes are on the rise here in SA too, just this week some one got killed for his cell phone, and Robbers pepper-spray sleeping baby The world can be a pretty sad place at times
What a wank that guy is... Attacking a girl like that. I can't stand stories about kids/teens being killed by jerkoffs. This is horrible news. RIP
