Science is like a cheeseburger for the mind, and math is like french fries on the side.

Religion isn't the opium of the people, overused proverbs are.

I hope you weren't referring to mine :p I just stole it from family guy
Also I was a bit offended that my biosciences were sort of shrugged off, rocket science and nuclear physics are arguably less complicated than a lot of biosciences. I'm not saying I could build a rocket, but there aren't often any new developments while biosciences are constantly changing and most of it is still not fully understood. Unlike rocket science :p
Not shrugging them off, but I feel my area deserves just as much recognition as any other

I've done research in Communication Science (and I know all those engineers are going to groan about communication majors being lazy and whatnot - but communication research is a whole other thing) - but I'm much more of a humanities research kind of person right now - literary analysis and whatnot. I teach, but I'm a writer and a translator more than a researcher nowadays.

I do teach Scientific Research and how to write research papers and to present scientific information -which is something I can teach based on my Communication research background. But I focus on the writing part, and it's my students who do the science, mainly social sciences.

Shit's gonna get real (again) once I go back to school to get a doctorate in Social Sciences or in Education Research (still haven't decided which one). Dr. Xerdo does have an "evil mastermind" ring to it.

I'm a Communication major. Specifically, Telecommunication and Film (TCF). Which really means that I mainly do film and some TV-related stuff. I plead guilty to being lazy myself, but there are some really hard-working people in the TCF department. I never realized before going to school for it that you really have to put a lot of blood and sweat (figuratively speaking) into filmmaking. But personally, I am very lazy.

I dont know if you were expecting an answer on this one.
But I can only conceive the world through a solipsistic point of view...
    (which means:)
I can only conceive myself as existing. As far as im concerned everything else (my physical reality) could be generated by my mind alone, thus making the existance of other beings (hence my physical reality) questionable.
The only thing that can not be doubted though is my mind alone. (i cannot doubt the fact that i am thinking because doubting means thinking.)
If you are familiar with Descartes' cogito ergo sum, you will understand what I mean.
Weird theory but i cant stop thinking about it.
There is no proof that this theory is real because this problem cannot be solved by a human being.

I hope i helped with my limited knowledge in english philosophical terminology.

And yes i study Philosophy and History of Science. Weird crap huh?

I do science: I once used superglue to stick a piece of cheese to a mouse and create a walking dichotomy

I won a nobel for that, and not any nobel: this one was made of chocolate!

    Beat that Krugman!
