Rocky Horror is the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's a cult classic and I recommend everyone see it at least once, even if you are scared by its description. People dress up as the characters and participate in 'events' that hapen in time with the movie. Many good times indeed. The brew and view is like a giant Meeting room with a projection screen where they show movies. You sit in rolling recliners, order dinner, and eat at the tables. It's really very cool. And GAH!! I just went to check the site. They swapped sunday for TONIGHT!!!! I hope to god I can make it >.<. Anyway heres the brew and view site: http://www.atriptothemovies.com/blindex2.htm Info on rocky is here: http://www.rockyhorror.com/ click on participation to see the events we do edit oh yes and why rocky horror should be treated like sex: http://www.rockyhorror.com/virgknow.html
:smt043 , indeed we need to find and return the scratching head on this forum, for topics like this. :smt042 ;-) (PS: I really want the scratching head back , you know? :smt045 there's some smilley that are useless... why not getting it back at the place of those ? )
As Purge stated, it's a really, really odd American movie (Tim Curry in drag, anyone?) with lots of catchy songs and very odd rituals for public viewings (Example: In one scene a character proposes a toast. The audience then pelts the screen with toasted bread.) You will leave the movie scratching your head wondering what the hell you just saw. I'm not sure it's a super great movie or any of the other things that have been said about it, but it's definately recommended you see it once if it's available in your area. Also, it was either based off of or spawned a Broadway play, not sure which. And apparently my college is having some big showing for it as well tonight, but they want money to get in, and I ain't down with that, yo.
It's a pretty cool experience..but know what you're in store for if it's someone goes for the first time...had a friend take me in college without telling me anything...I about decked someone for smacking me with a rubber dildo...apparently they do this to Rocky Horror virgins... :smt043
I hear they're doing the same for Hedgwig and the Angry Inch in some places, which is a fantastic piece of work -- I love the soundtrack. It's what rock 'n' roll should be, but has not matured to, unfortuantely. The finale track (Midnight Radio) just makes me freel all warm, fuzzy, yet empty on the inside.
