Hi, I have an SCPH-10000 PS2 that came with the 1.01 utility disc version, but which ROM build/date should such a console have? This one shows up as 0100JC20000117 in uLaunchELF, but I thought that was the launch ROM? Didn't they update the ROM to block the 1.00 disc? I've seen that some SCPH-1000 have 0101JC20000217 as on the chart here, so I assumed that was what the "patched" machines would be. The console was purchased in April 2000 if it means anything.
DVD Player 1.00 is banned on Mechacon firmware of the updated consoles so BIOS has nothing to do with the DVD utiity disc which came with the console. Probably, the updated BIOS is just late software fixes. BIOS 101 is seen on the final wave of SCPH-10000 consoles made before the SCPH-15000 and on the 15000 too. FYI, SCPH-15000 units still identify themselves as SCPH-10000 on the version screen.
