SCPH-1010 is early Japan only psx controller. It has short cord,
    and is smaller than SCPH-1080.

    Width - Less
    Shoulder trigger - Smaller depth
    Handle - Shorter
    Main body is slimmer

    1010- Malaysia
    1080- China

Yes, it was only released with the early SCPH-1000 consoles to my knowledge, and thereafter discontinued; I have an SCPH-1002 (EU) console from the launch day that had the SCPH-1080 included.

oh wow.. i was unaware that there were any real differences than the cable length...
I'll have to go compare the serial port controllers with my normal ones as thy seem to use the 1010 mold...
