According to Wikipedia, SCPH-75001 PS2s have problems with more PS1 games and even some PS2 games, were these incompatibilities fixed on later models? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_games_incompatible_with_PlayStation_2 As I mentioned in my other thread, I have a SCPH-90004 PS2, do I have anything to worry about? Thanks in advance.
It's a pity we don't really have a good list like this one that Japan has: http://www.jp.playstation.com/info/notice/nt_20051020_scph75000.html But from it, I would say that some issues were solved from the next model (SCPH-77000 series). But if you think about it, the list of titles affected isn't so big, in comparison to the entire game library.
AFAIK at 7500X and up GS + EE got reworked + the I/O Chip got reworked too. Therefore some games have issues. I own a SCPH-7000X(v11.5 aka v12), its a hot stone no doubt but runs nice. Ever incompatible game has different issues, some known are: - some freeze at title screen - the game freeze on save - the game freeze after edit game settings - the music is messed up - some cutscenes dont play Following Games don't run / with issues on 7500X and up: min. 10 PS2 title : - Gauntlet Dark Legacy - Simple 2000 Ultimate Series Vol. 22: Stylish Mahjong Usagi - Racing Battle C1 Grand Prix - F1 2001 - F1 2002 - Usagi -Yasei no Toupai- THE ARCADE - Aiyori Aoshi - Hitman: Contracts - Tekken 5 - Everybodys Tennis (freeze at title) around 39 PS1 title like: - Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX - Eldergate - Racin Groovy - Krazy Ivan - Megatudo 2096 - Worms - Sold Out - U.P.P. - 3X3 Eyes: Tenrinou Genmu - Test Drive 4 - Chrono Cross - Air Management '96
