Hello, I dug out my old ps2 and tried to turn it on. The light on the power switch didn't come on so I opened it and found that the power ribbon was ripped partially. I replaced it and tried powering it on again and there still wasn't a light or confirmation that the console is even getting power at all. The console is missing the optical drive and the cables associated with it, but there aren't any damaged capacitors or bridged connections at a glance.
Sometimes when the power ribbon sits wrong the main lane power fuse with the lable "PS1" will burn down, results in no power LED. I had some systems with these issues. Ofc never brige the fuse, replace it with a proper one. Its possible to use resettable fuses too.
