    Hi.
Is it possible to fix this with a sort of sync mod? Both my consoles are NTSC versions, the PS2 is also a slim model.

    :concern:
not a lot to go on.
because it wasn't stated in the subject, have you checked to see if your TV is 60hz compatible, or at least alternate between the two rates? (50/60hz) have you referred to TV user manual, if you have it?
try messing with the TV settings on the TV itself, just for the effected channel.
    ...
electronic shops may sell channel selectors with overscan reduction/upscale but that's nothing to do with console operations and may experience some latency. (if the console can alternate between refresh rates via an in-game menu, try that also)
slimline units (your ps2) has no bearing here regarding subject.
    ...
1, first, try a game that allows refresh rate change in menu. if you succeed there, no need for the following steps.
2, check TV menu settings and apply what maybe overlooked? (if possible? check TV capacity/features)
3, not required but here for a laugh.
check all cables are properly connected and seated.
    ...
all the best! :witless: (if none of this response is helpful in any way/already done as suggested before subject, apologies for that, i had zero to work with)

Oh, I forgot to tell you that the SNES works just fine on my Plasma, but not LCD. Haven't tried the PS2 on the plasma yet though.

What do you mean by "jumps"? What sort of connection are you using?

Also, if your screen has problems with the PlayStation mode, it probably simply doesn't support 240P... like a lot of modern-day screens. :/

Thank you for the reply :). I mean, it's bouncing vertically, up and down, not by much, but it's annoying. Is there any solution? Cause apparently my TV does not support 240p. Can't I upscale before feeding it to the TV?

    I checked the specs: [TABLE="width: 100%"]

240P isn't actually an official standard. According to Wikipedia:
Either way, your TV probably doesn't like the signal. The only solution that you have would probably to get an external upscaler device, which I hear isn't exactly cheap.

On a side note... although the PlayStation 2 could probably be programmed to use the normal NTSC and/or PAL video modes (or even something else entirely, like say 480P) for its PS1 driver, there is no such software mod yet. I believe that this is plausible because its PlayStation GPU is software emulated by the EE.

Alright, thanks a lot for the help. Maybe it's better to get a new tv instead.

You do need to provide more information, really.

    - What country are you in?
    - Is your television PAL or NTSC?
    - Is your television CRT or LCD/plasma?
    - What video leads are you using to connect the consoles? Composite? S-video? RGB? Component?

On a CRT, you should have a vertical hold - adjust that.

I'm in Sweden, I'm using a Samsung LE37M86BD (LCD), which works perfectly for NTSC games. I'm using RGB for both consoles, and both act the same way. I think sp193 hit the nail on the head.
