I haven't been keeping up with the latest advances of devices that allow you to play ISOs from SD/USB for PS1, Dreamcast, and Saturn. Can anyone fill me in on what the current state of play is on these platforms? I've been on the PSIO waiting list forever, but it seems it still isn't ready for full distribution. Is GDEmu still the best solution for the Dreamcast? What about the Saturn? I remember seeing a video of some guy that had broken the Saturn CD protection scheme. Did anything ever come from that? Thanks in advance for any info.
Last I checked none of these devices are widely available. They are out there for each one so you can obtain them if you try hard enough and have the money. I read somewhere in a PS-IO topic here that StoneAgeGamer may start selling the PS-IO in the future so perhaps it will become more widely available in the next year.
I got fed up trying to get a order in for gdemu and spent a bit more on a gdusb http://3do-renovation.ru/USB-GDROM_Controller.htm and I'm glad I did it's really good. Took sometime to get the PayPal invoice and a few weeks after that for it to turn up. It's easy to fit and use. Every image I've tried so far works. The maker of the gdemu makes Saturn ODE but again it seems to be a mission to place an order.
