Anyone know why http://www.sega-16.com/ is showing as site suspended?

I love this site at the minute. Was just reading some articles and then boom...gone.

First time in about 2 years I've known it to be down.

Maybe they just exceeded their bandwidth limit. Pretty common with shared hosting servers.

Apparently it was hacked by a disgruntled user that was banned from the forums..

Yeah it's still down. A recovery wouldn't take this long.

Unless of course the hacker created bad relations between the site and the web host and it's taking them a while to rehost.

This is why you should keep a back up of uour site. I have my complete site backed up of 2 different hard drives and a mirror server whuch are always updated the same time as the main site. That way if it ever goes down i just open uo the FTP and upload the entire site again. Quick and easy

Backups and keep EVERYTHING patched as the patches come out. I've seen plenty of forums get wiped from their hosting because of some exploit that has been patched for several months. The average idiot who wipes forums aren't people with 0day exploits or copious amounts of cracking skills, they're some pissed off wanker who is likely between the ages of 12-16 (or acts like it) and found a pre-packaged "proof of concept" exploit that the admins failed to patch for one reason or another.

Same goes for your Windows machines. I've seen networks taken down by worms that Microsoft had patched months prior simply because the network admin didn't bother to figure out how to command the machines to patch regularly.

What a waste:(. It hurts the user more than the owner.

Down again. Hacked to make it look like the site was responsible for a phishing attempt.

The servers owners have taken it down for fear of the whole server being compromised.
