I could have sworn I played this game many years ago at a comic/toy/game meeting when I was a little kid. The picture is from a French forum. They seem to mention modded carts too, but my French isn't what it used to be: http://forums.guardiana.net/viewtopic.php?id=797&p=3
Interesting...the site says the game was never released due to the closing of Kaneko, just like Socks the Cat. Not to mention those are repros, and they're from Playgen, a guy who used to mainly sell his stuff at the Sega 16 forums I think. I'm lost because I thought the game was released too. You can even find a US rom for it on the net and it doesn't say beta or anything next to it. Here's more proof for a US release as well: http://www.gamerankings.com/genesis/586181-fido-dido/index.html Wonder why they say on that site it's unreleased... And if you took notice of that forum you'll see that every single cart in that topic is a repro
Yeah now that I read the text again, all of them are indeed repros... Nicely done though. When I google on Fido Dido for the Mega Drive some more repros come up, but it also looks like some sites ever had this game in stock. Or this game is released and very rare, or it was canceled at the last moment explaining all these entries as if it were released. I'm pretty sure I have played this game... It was also the rage back then to draw Fido Dido every where. The character was almost as popular as Mario and Sonic back in the day, well at least where I lived.
Kogami is specialized in repros. He make repros of game never made (meaning he creates box&instructions for it,for example),like Choro Trigger PAL SNES,FF III SNES,etc.. Or make produce a cart game with french translation inside,etc.. He does it for fun, generally don't sell his work. Then,he made Ninja Gaiden or Fido Dido as well..those games aren't official, for sure.
Exactly. It was never released, but the rom has been available for many years. There have been pirate carts of this for years too, some of which are very good. Some Russian ones come complete with manual, in small style case. Not as good as that nice looking repro though. I'm not 100% sure but the rom may have been 'officially' released similar to It Came From The Desert. Edit...FFS. Plenty of games are reviewed and not released. FIDO DIDO MD WAS NOT RELEASED. People have been looking for official copies for 10 years. Hell even if one or two were suddenly found now then it would still be unlikely that they were ever offered for retail.
Starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel a bit now im running out of boxes full of magazines :-( but still i found a few more screens for everyone to enjoy. the attic This is not the end.
Now that explains why is looks so shit on the Saturn. They probably did a quick port. Just look at Thunder Hawk II then look at how piss poor Shell Shock is next to it. Both from the same company both running on Saturn yet one looks like it's made for a lower spec console. Yakumo
I don't think that's the same motocross game as the one that got released. That one has MUCH worse graphics and doesn't let you switch views.
