I was talking with GSL about a C Compiler for the Genesis that I have found in Zophar's Domain website and how I would like to make my own homebrewed game someday. After that we started to talk about the IBM Teradrive and how I would like to get my hands on one, which I thought was an SDK but it turns out its a console/PC combo. THEN it struck my mind. Was there ever a 32X SDK?? Here is a picture of it: Does anybody have a high resolution picture of that?? I would also like to know how much one costs nowadays. I would love to get my hands on one.
... few of them were made as 32s devers were also few.I vave not seen anything about it exept the same photo.Don't think you will find one...
PsyQ made their own system (Kaneda has a couple of pictures of it), but if you want to make your own software just get a Tototek flash cartridge or build your own.
Development needs a kit. Of course there are kits, but given there were less than perhaps 20 developers, that makes for very few kits...
A 32X devcart (that hooked up to a PC) turned up on ebay.be a few months ago for 99e, I was tempted to get it for a moment but decided not to, after all. What I personally am more interested in is the 32X dev software that supposedly got leaked. I bugged Eidolon about it but got no replies, and Profund Darkness mentioned he might have it but he hasnt got back to me yet :smt009
Indeed. I think they only made a few of them. Plus they probably used those PsyQ or a 32X board on a Genesis dev system. Anyway, i don't believe that huge thing on the pic is a 32X dev. Maybe a Saturn early kit? :smt017
One thing is certain it's one of the hardest to find devkits, wonder what it was made out , a genesis with extra stuff on it or just a pc case with a few boards inside ?
Yep You don't need any hardware to create your genesis/segacd/32x game (fortunately). As you said, the official dev kit (software part) isn't useable without the hardware. Only GCC or a ASM compiler :smt017 . The sega2.doc :smt019 . A good emu :smt023 . And some kaneda's tools rayer: . And some exemples :smt043 . http://fvring.free.digitartstudio.com/index.php?main=cga&sub=mdd Have fun! And just keep in mind that Genny dev is sooo easy, join now the sega genesis dev community :smt033
Great link Fonzie. Downloading the tech demos now. can't wait to see Chu Chu Rocket on the Mega Drive. Yakumo
Hey there, I dunno if you managed to get/or those links had the psy-q/cross products 32x dev software (with example dev source), but I've uploaded it (I'll probably leave it there for a few days!). Enjoy! http://rpgd.emulationworld.com/fh/downloads/32X.ZIP
I saw a 32x dev kit at Ubisoft but it was just a black cartridge with a floppy connection to a special computer.
