I have just picked up a 32X console, but it looks like there is an issue with the video. If you compare my 'real life 'screenshots with the emulator screenshots below it looks like some colours are missing. Does anybody know what could be causing this? It could be the SCART cable but I don't have another to test.
What link cable are you using? If it's one of those cheap $2 to $10 ones you can get off ebay, the quality will probably be crap. What are you using to connect it to the TV? RGB or composite?
I am not sure if the link cable is OEM or not, it came with the system. Any way to tell? That would make sense. The TV cable is RGB SCART, again came with the 32x so can't comment on the origin. Are there any recommended video cables to try?
The official Sega 32X cable has a cylinder before one of the connectors. I don't know what it's for, but most generic link cables lack it. The only company that I've ever trusted with non-official AV cables is a company in the UK called Retro Gaming Cables. You'll find great RGB SCART and link cables for the 32X. www.retrogamingcables.com
Cool thanks, will check that link out. Yes my cable does have that bit but looking at eBay all the ones listed there do too.
Problem solved, it was the RGB SCART cable I was using. Replaced it with one from Console Goods which was advertised as having "brightness control" and it has sorted it
