Went into Tokyo mainly to try and pick up Fantasy Zone Complete Collection as it had sold out around here for some reason, in fact it was quite sold out in Akihabara too, but found a shop that had it.

Now playing it and it's what a collection should be like, every version of the game with every revision, lots of flyers and artwork as well sound test modes and 240p, 480i and 480p modes (and scanlines too). Sadly missing all the non sega machine versions like the MSX and PC Engine.

The early Sega Ages collections were pretty rubbish but the recent ones seem to be in the right direction.

What sega games do you think should get done?

I do think that Shinobi (Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, Revenge of Shinobi, etc), Out Run (Out Run, Turbo Out Run, Out Runners, Out Run 2019, etc) and Monaco GP (Monaco GP, Monaco GP Pro, Super Monaco GP) should get the Sega Ages treatment.

They made Out Run, but it's only a 3d remake of the original one. It's not bad, but it's nowhere good or graphically cool as Out Run 2. Still a nice tribute.

Monaco GP also had a Sega Ages treatment, but i didn't liked.

I'm still waiting for the Alex Kidd one!

PS: Just stay away for the Golden Axe one.

The Phantasy Star one is brilliant too (the recent release) with all versions (but one I think) available in English and authentically emulated like Fantasy Zone.

With Sega Direct axed I think Sega won't be releasing any new Sega Ages 2500 games. Maybe they'll continue on the PS3, hopefully.

I mostly enjoyed VF2 (most authentic version available) and Panzer Dragoon (No XP hassles!)

Sega Direct & Sega Ages have nothing to do with each other.

They started this w/ the Gunstar Heroes: Treasure Box AFAIK.

This is apparently the only one with sound quality that matches the Mega Drive. click me for details

As for others that should be done. Shinobi is a no-brainer. Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, plus the MD releases for the win. I would like to see a System 16 collection (well, another one) that included Alien Syndrome (with a credit roll this time maybe).
