I've been collecting videogame-related Laserdisc video titles and I'm starting to upload them to YouTube before laser rot gets the best of them and they're lost forever. This one's called Sega Amusement CG World, a longplay compilation of Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Rally, and Desert Tank. It's not too hard to find, but nobody had put it online, so I decided I'd do it, and y'all can enjoy it without needing a clunky LD player and an expensive disc.

There will be many more. I've also got a Nintendo Power kiosk disc (version 11) which gets through over 90% of the video before crashing (not bad for an abused disc) along with a lot of Namco discs, Neo Geo discs, and a Super Famicom disc coming soon. Posted it here because these discs are relatively obscure, and it's the only rip on YT. Enjoy

As a fellow Laserdisc preservationist of sorts, this is really nice to see, thanks!

I've always wanted to track down the Sega related LDs. Look forward to seeing more!

Is there no way to back up the data on the laser disks?

Laser discs are analog, not digital... (Well, the audio might be digital, but probably not on these.) So there's nothing to 'back up'. You just have to play them and record it.

Do you have any that are 'LD-R'? (Recordable discs) I have one that I think is either Nintendo or Sega related, but it's a red-colored disc that was used in a laserdisc burner. Never even knew they made those... I definitely need to get that one copied and see what's on it...

I haven't checked in a while, but a rip of the Sega Amusement World CG "Best Collection" Laserdisc used to be available on Nico Nico Douga about two years ago. Still, it's great to have this in better quality as a single video rather than being cut into smaller parts, and I'm looking forward to any other Sega LD titles that could be preserved...

So what happened to this?! I was just going through the retro reality channel and was looking for more channels with laserdisc recordings.
