It seems you guys have found me out. Yes, it is true that Sega's mystery announcement is a Samba De Amigo attachment based off of the patented "Greatsaintlouis" technology. Sadly, I have to attend a press conference (aka class) right now, but rest assured I shall have more details and the official cover art available to you this evening.
Alright, thank you all for being so patient while we were sorting out the licensing issues. I present to you all, Samba De Amigo: GreatSaintLouis edition! As you may have guessed, this is the stunning news that Sega had planned to unveil at their press conference, but due to the hubbub created by the DS and PSP, Sega thought it wise to delay the announcement. There appears to have been much speculation as to the nature of this product, so hopefully I can clear some things up. To quote the press release: "Everybody's favorite maraca-weilding monkey is back, with a brand new monkey! Samba De Amigo: GreatSaintLouis edition is a new take on an old favorite. Specifically designed for connectivity with the Greatsaintlouis addon (no adaptor needed with included serial cable), prepare to experience Samba De Amigo in a way never before possible, and only on the Sega Dreamcast!" I would also like to take this moment to introduce the first of many planned addons for the Greatsaintlouis unit - the Puru Puru Hat! This item will utilize the Greatsaintlouis unit's expansion port (gently) to provide a realistic vibrating hat like the style you'd see worn at an authentic Mexican fiesta! With this and more planned addons, the Greatsaintlouis unit will breathe new life into your Sega Dreamcast system! Currently, the Samba:GSL edition is only planned for a PAL release, but if sales figures show strong interest, rest assured there will be NTSC/U and NTSC/J releases as well. No problem, I saw the topic thinking there really WAS a new Samba addon, and then I saw it was me... needless to say, I thought it was funny as hell. :smt023 If the news does leak out to other sites, I hope they remember that they heard it here first.
