I was looking around a few Japanese sites for some Asian Mega Drive carts that look like Western ones, when I came across these Asian Sega clones and pirate goods. Noritul FX Mega Drive Clone from Korea Tekken Special Mega Drive Pirate Cartridge Super Mario World Mega Drive Pirate Cartridge Mega Drive Clone ?? Could this be another 16 bit clone? Time Gear Chinese Game Gear rip off watch Dreamcast Promotion Not really anything to do with piracy but still cool to see British chocolate makers Cadbury, promoting the Dreamcast in China (Hong Kong) Yakumo
This is the first I've heard about a pirate SMW on the Mega Drive/Saturn - could it possibly be a straight port, something along the lines of the SMW or the Somari on Famicom? I'm hoping it's not just some stupid sprite hack of another game in the veins of classics like "Super Mario 14: Granddad" :smt043
Yakumo. I wouldn't eat that chocolote. Who knows, it might really be a knock off of Cadbury and probably isn't real chocolate and is something else :smt043
hey man, those are fantastically weird things and I personally love 'em. ever play lion king 2 on megadrive? its an excellent pirate game where you're the lion king cub running around china (yes its strange). How about tetris for megadrive - thought it was never released? well the pirate copy of the system 16 version of tetris can be gotten in these parts (includes such modes as 2 player cooperative play whereby the screen is larger and 2 players help each other make lines!). Brilliant game. Then theres' wierd King Of Fighters 98, and a version of the snes/super famicom megaman x3!!! and its very good too.
cool Cool, but i don't have any idea why they never designed a smaller size clone (because, 90% of the system is in a gluechip, so there is a lot of free space in this model). Imagine a sega mega drive model 2 (exact replika) only 20*20cm... You think that the "Noritul FX" is still easily "findable" in korea?
:smt043 you never know. The Super mario World is not like Sonmario but is a whole Mario game made for Mega Drive. I have the rom at home. It's very good too. I'll see if my brother has it on his PC. If he does I’ll post a few pictures. There are quite a few cool Mega Drive pirate games from China. Some look better than official games. Pocahontas (Spell?) is very nice. It's a walk along platform beat em up if I remember rightly. I'll have a look now for the Chinese pirate game roms and take a few pictures. Yakumo
I've been wanting the Noritul FX for it's font, for 3 years! Where can I get a Nights-esque font? It's SEXA!
I checked my brothers PC to see if he had the Mario Mega Drive game but he doesn't, so I can't take any pictures of it. From what I remember the game does look like Mario 4 on the SNES with slightly jerky scrolling. My memory is very hazy about this one but from what I do remember it did play very well. Even had the map screen as well I think. Anyway, like I said, it was a long time ago when I played it so I don't remember much about it. When I get home I'll boot it up and grab a few screen shots for everyone to see. Yakumo
This place doesn't have the NiGHTS font but they do have many cool Sega fonts including a far better SEGA one that most people use. THe one that many people use has a odd looking "N" the font on this site uses a lower case "n" whicg looks so much better. http://www.clavis.ne.jp/~sonic/segasonic/index.htm
i've picked up these three at the same flea market here in los angeles over the course of a few years. the sonic is exactly the same minus the sega title screen and copyright info. underneath and to the right is a 9 in 1, and the other one is mahjong lover, an adult (pg-13) mahjong game with coy, yet provacative, ladies posing in the background.
Lol, i have 10-12 games like that but the owner of this case is a real pirate fan :smt043 (is that you segafreak?). I played some years ago a sonic1 with sticklips (red). Does anybody remember this hacked version?
