Hello again.I finally have found and purchased a classic Sega CD model 1 (bios v.1.10). I happily hooked my Genny 1 up to it and proceeded to test out a few games. I noticed something weird. In several of the games that I have tried, it seemed that they are missing their SFX. For example: Batman Returns - missing explosions, Batman (and bad guys) grunting when hit, yet music works gorgeously. Final Fight CD - the intro is perfect, yet when you hit START, you don't hear the BEEP sound. Also, in the first stage, you don't hear any sound effects including the boss's laugh, the battle cries, and even when something breaks. Sonic CD - Strangely enough, the only sounds I noticed missing were when Sonic yells YEAH or when you hit the Time posts, it doesn't say out loud, FUTURE or PAST. So, I looked online to see what can I do to remedy this? I tried the solution with the mixer cable and the separate L/R cable. It didn't work (yet it gave the music better separation). I used the 32x converter cable so I could use a Genesis 2 AV Cable on the Genesis 1. Same effect. I even tried hooking up the 32X, yet with all 3 together, I cannot get any sound (instead I get a buzzing...)I thought it was the Genny 1, but when I tried my Genny 2 on the Model 1 SCD, the same thing happens. It's not the discs, because they work well on my CDX. So, right now, I'm stumped. Is there anything else I can try, or am I SOL? Thanks again.
Bad capacitors might do this if it was specific to the sound effects channels. If that is even possible (I don't know the model 1 very well).
