Update: I tried tapped a voltage source from a near by capacitor for the voltage regulator to see if the board would come alive with a +5Vdc output since it wasn't get one. Needless to say, nothing! Apparently this board has other problems so I'm going to use it for parts ... no point in wasting a ton of time with something in which there's no schematic diagram for ... and has almost no visible trace lines ... lol. Oh well ... you win some ... you lose some :suspicion:

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Bought a broken Sega CD Model 2 off eBay under the understanding that the fuse was blown. Anyway, to make a long story short, seller was a freaking liar. Opened it up today and discovered the retard had already tried to repair it by jumping the wires across the solder pads where the fuse is located. Needless to say, it didn't work!

I've installed a 2.5amp Littelfuse in it and now I'm down to troubleshoot why it still doesn't power up. I've narrowed it down some .... when checking the output of the NEC 2405 voltage regulator on the motherboard, I noticed the input voltage is only 2.5Vdc and the output voltage is 0.500Vdc.

Here's my question ... does anyone know where I might find a schematic for the Sega CD model 2 motherboard or at least something for the power section of the PCB? If it's not a voltage regulator issue then it's some component before the regulator that is going bad and pulling the voltage down with it hence the no power issue.

Any help would be appreciated :topsy_turvy:
