Let's start with Garfield: The lost levels. Will be ever get to see this version? Who owns the right to it? Can we persuade him/her to release or sell the game anywhere(virtual console comes to mind)? Was any cartridge version ever found? Anyways, I'm also wondering... Was Pulseman on Sega channel in English? Which games still need to be dumped?
Pulseman got a cartridge release only in Japan. No idea if the Sega Channel version was in English. You can get it on the Wii virtual console nowadays. Not sure if the undumped games can be dumped, they are probably gone for good. Hopefully they aren't and can be dumped one day.
Yes the Sega Channel version was in English. As far as undumped Sega Channel games, these are the only ones I know of. Garfield: the lost levels Chessmaster World Series Baseball '96 LE Gotron Klondike Flinstones: The Movie
I'm pretty sure the one you're thinking of is the Master System game. It also had a Game Gear release as well. No sorry, wish I did.
It does seem unlikely Sega would've released an untranslated game back then. But about the only way we'd know for sure Pulseman had English, is eye witness reports from those who downloaded it. Golden Axe 3 and Mega Man The Wily Wars are region locked in Europe. Their US versions must be different, or they'd have been inoperable (I'm not aware of the Sega Channel performing region patching anyway). Haven't heard of successfully extracting Wily Wars from its AtGames system. Edit: Looks possible to retrieve Golden Axe after all. http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm
More like in the ether. There was probably a cart or hard drive that the game was loaded on to the Sega Channel (I don't know how it works off hand), but the game was wiped as soon as the console was turned off. So for someone to have it now they would have to have their Genesis running continuously since 95, without loading another Sega Channel game.
Hmm... I'm probably gonna get in troubles for this but there is a file called "Repro GEN Roms [V-1.1]" that includes the ntsc version of Mega Man The Wily Wars and Golden Axe 3, but it looks like they are hacked versions.
I've always been so intrigued by those Garfield levels I couldn't play. I find it funny, since I don't hold the base game in high regard. ( Not to mention I have to admit to being a Garfield fan in my youth. #PiesOfAllSizes ) Even so, I have fond memories of purchasing the Genesis original. It'd still be awesome to play those missing levels, though. If I don't hold myself back, I just may hunt down that PC version. (I can't even imagine it working on a Windows 7 64-bit setup, but, for all I know, it could be a DOS game.)
