There's no build-in function for that .. you need to cache the value from the last frame ( see attached ).
Hello world, just using free wifi but one quick question can you store the time on a mega drive game and keep it in a counter? ie make each second last for an hour 60*24 = 1440 see you soon i hope when sky there fingers out there bum
well another week and still no joy, bloody bt/sky. anyway i have gone back to basics and as was sugsted earlier trying it all out in vb then if thats all good, look at porting it, stay tuned, god bless smart phones
Personally, I wouldn't recommend taking this route .. unless you have a firm understanding of the differences between PC & Mega Drive hardware. If not, you're far better off developing for the Mega Drive directly.
Well at last BT & Sky managed to resolve the issue with our connection, only took them 3 months. But i will now be able to update this with more regularity hope to show you what i have done so far very soon.
well here i am again, not much to update you with just to say im slowly working out the bugs in VB.net i know i know, its nothing like mega drive, but then at least i can see how i want it to work and plus if all else fails will look good, but yes i am perservering, have now got my self some articstic help for cars at the moment and would also imagine buildings written down in paper form all my pusdo code i can think off and started on missions, and have been tweaking my map, it's now a large 6000 * 6000 pixel fireworks monster, not sure how i will translate that into tiles for the poor old MD but time will tell, but now and then i think i have bitten of more then i can chew
question, can the mega drive do transparecny, my guy who is helping on the car design has asked me this and also shadow. also is the best thing to use to make the car so to speak is the sega genesis tile designer ? or is there something else you can use
There are 3 special values that could be classified as transparency. A pixel can be masked, it can highlight underlying pixels or it can darken them. That's it, for anything else you need to use a software solution ( which can be tricky & costly ). You can use any graphics application you want. Just keep in mind that the MegaDrive has a 9-bit palette ( 512 colors ) of which you can use a maximum of 16 colors per sprite .. and that sprites are a multitude of 8 pixels, with 32x32 pixels being the maximum size per sprite.
quick update, not much new to say im afraid as the arrival of my daughter put a kybosh on the whole thing, but have been story boarding how i want it to look and feel in my spare time and have been pusdo coding my arse off as last time spoke was testing out collision in visual basic still looking for help if any one is intrested in joining me in this challenge, a gta clone for the mega drive, and i suppose there is something new to say the name is now - Five Zero Three and my daughter is doing fine, more soon i hope and this time i hope it is something you can all see and try out
quick update i know its been a while but have decided to learn the basics first as suggested a wee while ago and have been working in VB so far and going good but slow
I bet I am going to end up doing something like this one day. And I bet it will take me eight times longer... Keep up the good work though! :biggrin-new:
